Introduction of the Research Group
For the past three years, the Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Working Group of the BME Department of Aeronautics and Naval Architecture has been focusing on the following topics in the framework of industrial cooperation:
1. MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) dual training
2. Analysis of advanced maintenance and repair processes,
3. MRO sector process and technology development.
Following a review and mapping of current research areas specific to the industry, we have grouped the needs and research directions in industry and academia:
1. Improvement of working process and digitalisation,
2. Inspection and detection
3. Research and development of maintenance and repair technologies
After evaluation of the research directions, the one with the highest return on investment will be selected. We then intend to apply state-of-the-art procedures and methodologies (e.g. artificial intelligence) to complete the development. We will test, verify, and validate the new procedures/methodologies to demonstrate the benefits of the developed solution/process/equipment.
